Sink into Cupcakes

There are lots of recipes that I use that are home made. Home made as in not out of a box. Cakes, cupcakes, and brownies are usually not among those! Why? They're just as good and so much faster allowing for more decorating time!

My Hubba Hubba, Jeremy, had "duty" yesterday. Basically, it means he is not allowed to leave the ship until the end of the NEXT work day. </3 I know. So today, I decided to bring him cupcakes. Yes they are from a box, but look how freaking cute! I have it on good authority that they are also delish! So, take a moment to sink into these nom nom anchor cupcakes!

Step 1: Figure out your design. I use pennies when determining my cupcake arrangement.
Step 2: Clean your kitchen so nobody will know what a mess you really are!
Step 3: Follow the preparation and cooking directions on the back of the cake mix.
Step 4: Lick the spoon, mixers, and bowl. Note - this step is NOT optional!!!
Step 5: Using a white frosting of your choice, mix several drops of food coloring to achieve the desired color.

Step 6: Place the accent icing color into a plastic sandwich bag and cut a very SMALL slit into one corner. I like to test the size of the writing on a plate before moving onto the cupcakes.

Step 7: After the cupcakes are done baking frost and design.
Step 8: Enjoy!
1 happy sailor = 1 happy housewife!

The possibilities for cupcake arrangements are seemingly endless, at least I'll pretend they are! Check out what I did with cupcakes for my Super Bowl Party.

So for those of you who don't know, the CVN 74 that's written on the cupcakes stands for the ship that he's on. I chose gold (shh I know it's really yellow!) because that's the color of the Chief's Anchors. Happy sailing!
