DIY Kid's Handprint & Footprint LOVE Art! Valentine's Day Craft!

I'm very last minute getting this posted. I am not a planner. Let me explain. I made this art a few days ago, just because it was a cute idea and I wanted something on display of my girls sweet prints. Then last night, it dawns on me that today is Valentine's Day and this would be a great V Day post!

My favorite things about this project are that it's great for year round (which was my original plan!), and you can choose any colors to match your home decor! Win, win!

Both prints are 11x14. I first tried on an 8x10 sheet of cardstock, but Addilyn's little 3 month old feet took up more space than I anticipated. There was no way I could get the whole word on there to scale. So, I took some poster board I had lying around and cut it to size. Tip: 1 standard size poster board cuts perfectly into 4 11x14 rectangles!

I used my silhouette machine to cut out the pieces. The letters in the "love" one are all vinyl. I measured each side of the paper so the letters would be even from each side. Then I stamped Addilyn's sweet little feet and placed them each individually in the shape of a "V".

For Reagan's hand print art I cut a heart out of cardstock and centered it on the 11x14 print with a little bit of tape underneath. I used a black hand stamper and let her go to town...with a little bit of guidance! Then I took some gold craft paint I had on hand and globbed it onto a plate. Then I spread it thin and wide so her hand would fit. She was happy to smack on top of the black prints! Be sure to rotate the piece a couple times, so it looks more random! Once it was all dry, carefully peel off the cardstock heart.

I haven't even opened Addilyn's baby book, but at least I have this sweet memorabilia!

This is a perfect last minute craft for Valentine's if you have the supplies! I had everything on hand for this, so it cost me $0!

♥ ♥ Happy Valentine's Day! ♥ ♥
