I haven't shared this part of my house at all because it was so hideous. I literally called it 'no man's land'. It had dark knotty pine everywhere. I didn't like it one bit. Because I didn't like it, I sort of used it as a garage. I'd pile up pending furniture projects, yes I stacked dressers on top of dressers. It really looked bad in here.
Here it is on move in day. It's not the same view as the corner I'm sharing, but you get the idea....
I finally painted it white! It's a thousand times better! Since then, I slowly started getting this area in order. I even have a cute office nook, but that's for another time...well I guess y'all can have a tiny sneak peek. I'm the owner of the most amazing mid century modern L shaped desk. You can see part of it on the left.
If you follow me on social media (Facebook ♥ Instagram ♥ Twitter ♥ Pinterest ♥ YouTube), you'd have seen my total boho thrift haul! This shelf was among it all. I'd been half heartedly on the lookout for one, and I found this one for $39! It required some rearranging of this area, so it would work. I like it so much now! It feels more finished. Scrappy agrees!
Here's what I was working with for a while. I swapped the location of the bench and the stacked chests, so I could nestle that amazing wicker shelf in the corner!
I love coming home, plopping my diaper bag on the bench and sticking my keys in the little hanger by the door. Everything has a place!
The shelf holds some pretties and practical items. I use the hats, the black and white is our picnic blanket, and the very bottom bag houses a couple of baby carriers! And plants. Purifying the air is practical, right? I'm slowly becoming a crazy plant lady!
I feel pretty confident saying this portion of the room is essentially finished, but don't hold me to that since I love changing decor!
I'm still sporting vertical blinds on the sliding door and paper ones on the window. I'll most likely keep the vertical ones, simply because I'd want white curtains and the floor gets so dirty by the door! The paper shade on the window will likely be replaced at some point! I also spy a boob light in the mirror! Oops! That also has to go!
I hope you enjoyed this post! If you did we should be friends! Follow along below & leave a comment or two! I'm starting to feel a little crazy talking only to myself and toddlers...
