Mint Green French Provincial Dresser

Hey y'all! It's been so cold and rainy here in the PNW. It is gumbo weather for sure. I loooove gumbo, and my sister makes the best. Mine is good, but I'll humbly admit hers is better. She's honestly a better cook than me..and I'm pretty darn good!

Last date night I went on a dinner date, and the special was gumbo! "The chef learned how to make it when he lived in Louisiana for 3 months. His friend who is a Louisiana native shared the recipe and tricks!" Me: *spoon ready in hand* I'll take that!" I did tell her I was from Louisiana and would be judging!!!

Now, I am not one to complain.
I have never sent a dish back or even expressed displeasure.
Maybe because I'm a closet fatty that loves food, and I'm easy to please.

But...this mess didn't even look like gumbo. They served it on a PLATE, with a FORK. I actually thought they brought me the wrong thing. It was like rice and gravy. {gumbo is soupy FYI} It wasn't good, not even a little bit. It looked foreign and had an odd taste. We didn't eat it. At all. The waitress asked how it was, and bless her heart, I was just like "that's not gumbo." She offered to bring something else, but in my mind that translated into spending more money..and I wasn't going to have my boyfriend drop more money after spending $25 on trash gumbo. I'm going to make a Yelp account just to leave a review saying their gumbo is a lie!

I think I'm going to make gumbo this week to cleanse my palate of the memory of this imposter gumbo! Also I'm pretty sure my sister is coming to visit next month; so, I'll naturally make her cook me gumbo!

Moral of the story is, other than I'm up late right now with nobody to talk to, things aren't always what you expect! I picked up this little dresser expecting to flip it for resale. I chose to paint it mint green, simply because I had a few cans of that color spray paint and wanted to use it. It's definitely an improvement over the boring brown.

I'm painting away; it's looking cute. Then it dawns on me that at one point not in the too distant past, I was in the market for a small dresser to put in my girls' closet. I hang my older daughter's, Reagan, shirts and dresses, but my toddler, just has everything shoved in drawers. Literally shoved since she shares a dresser with Reagan's pj's and pants, etc...

So, this mint green space savior unexpectedly became their second dresser! I have it tucked away in their closet, and Reagan's clothes are stored there. I photographed it before putting it away because the other side of their closet is a hot mess of diaper boxes filled with clothes waiting for Addilyn to grow into. It's not pretty. lol At least it's functional now, and the space it freed up for Addilyn's clothes in the other dresser is borderline life changing!

Speaking of unexpected...are you loving this French Provincial bohemian vibe? I am!

I'll have to get a better handle on the girls closet, and share an updated picture of this baby in it's home. In the mean time, check out their cute shared bedroom! It's changed some into a semi big girl room because I got Reagan a new bed. That's one more thing on the ole update to do list! Have a great weekend everyone!

I post awesome stuff daily, and would love more friends! Give me a follow and lets connect!
